We are dedicated to making it easier for Carers to cope.
We are proud to work in partnership with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust delivering support for unpaid Carers in Torbay.
carers Week
Carers Week is a partnership of eight national charities:
Age UK, Carers UK, Crossroads Care, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, MS Society, Parkinson’s UK, and The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.
The partnership was formed in 2001; the week having previously been organised by Carers UK (then known as Carers National Association).
The Children’s Society – Young Carers
Our Include services helps young carers, families and those who work with young carers. We want you to be health, happy and focused on the future. We know caring for someone can be difficult but you need to make time for yourself as well.
We can help you understand your rights as a young carer, introduce you to other young carers, advise you on different ways into education and employment.

Get Online @ Home is an initiative run by Computer Recyclers UK who provide low cost, accessible, ready to use refurbished computers to help more people get online, and they work in partnership with Currys who help you compare the best broadband packages in your area and can help find the right deal for your home.
SENDIASS
SENDIASS is the Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service for Torbay. It is a free, confidential and impartial information and advice service, set up to support parents and carers of children aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
SENDIASS also provides advice and support to children and young people from 0-25 who have special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), easily accessible information around all aspects of education, health and social care.
Talkworks
Is the way that you are feeling affecting your daily life? Are you struggling to cope, feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings? Are you living with a health condition that is making you feel tired, frustrated and worried? You are not alone and we can help.
We are a free, confidential, NHS talking therapy service, part of IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies), for people (aged 18+) in Devon ( excluding Plymouth), helping you to feel better and giving you the tools and techniques to improve your mental and physical wellbeing.
The Moorings
Are you feeling distressed, frightened, overwhelmed, or that things are too much for you? Don’t know where to turn to get mental health support? Are your usual sources of support closed for the night?
The Moorings @ Devon offers out-of-hours mental health support to anyone age 16+ in the Devon area, from three locations in Barnstaple, Exeter, and Torquay.
Torbay Young Carers
When a young carer is referred to us we will contact them and arrange to meet with them to discuss their needs and develop a support plan.
We aim to:
• Consider family needs whilst signposting adults where appropriate
• Give information and advice on local activities, national contacts and support services relevant to your situation
• Host various drop-ins around the bay, arrange activities during school holidays for young carers to participate in
• Provide individual support and befriending
• Signpost and refer to other agencies and additional support
