Who are the Torbay Young Adult Carers?
In 2009 Torbay Young Adult Carers was funded by the Department of Health as a Demonstrator Site coming under the umbrella of Carers Services, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
Torbay Young Adult Carers went into operation in January 2010 and is now based at the Paignton Carers Centre.
Torbay Young Adult Carers is dedicated to providing a range of support for Young Adults ages 16-25 years old who are caring for, or helping to care for someone who has a long term illness, disability, frailty, mental ill-health,
and drug or alcohol problem.
Primarily the service provides 1:1 sessions, drop-ins and much needed time out for Young Adult Carers.
